Well, this is why you go to a ballgame.

Tom Hanks showed up at Citi Field on Saturday night, just minding his business for the Subway Series. The New York Mets had other plans.
Enter Mr. Met. And not just any Mr. Met. This one came dressed as Wilson.
Yes, that Wilson. The volleyball from Cast Away. The one that had Hanks screaming into the void like the rest of us after a bad breakup or a blown ninth-inning lead.
So naturally, Mr. Met strolls over, full Wilson face paint and all, and gets right in front of Hanks. The crowd starts to catch on. Hanks sees it. And just like that, we've got a live sequel 26 years in the making.
Hanks doesn't hesitate. He leans into it and belts out the famous "WILSONNNNN!" to the crowd, because of course he does. You don't get two Academy Awards by missing moments like that.

For those keeping score at home, Hanks is basically Hollywood royalty. The guy's got Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes, you name it. Movies like Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, and about 20 others you've watched at least five times.
But on this night, in Queens, none of that mattered.
It was just a man, a mascot, and a volleyball that still refuses to be forgotten.
