The Little League World Series may have ended last month, but that hasn't stopped players in the minor leagues from hitting Little League-style home runs. In one player's case, he didn't even need to make contact.
Tyresse Turner, who plays for the Cleveland Guardians' High-A affiliate Lake County Captains, struck out on a dropped third strike in the third inning of Wednesday night's game against the Lansing Lugnuts. The catcher couldn't immediately snag the ball to tag him out, and he raced toward first — then proceeded to round every base after the catcher's throw sailed over the first baseman and past everyone else.

Turner blazed around the bases as Lansing's right fielder had trouble with the ball in the corner. It's certainly not something you see every day — in the minor leagues or in MLB.
Officially, this goes down as a strikeout and a run scored. That's got to be confusing for people keeping score at home. Lake County wound up winning the game 13-1.
Turner, out of the University of Southern California, was a 13th-round pick in the 2022 MLB Draft by the Guardians. The former Trojan is hitting .231 in 11 games with the Captains, including eight runs scored. I'm sure he'll never forget the run he scored on this play.
