World Series Preview: LA Dodgers And NY Yankees 12th Historical Matchup

The NL champion Los Angeles Dodgers (98-64) are set to take on the AL champion New York Yankees (94-68) in the 2024 World Series. To point out, in view of the rivalry between the east and west coast organizations, the hype surrounding this series is heightened, as they last met in 1981, and have faced off more than any other two teams in MLB history.

Notably, this will be the 12th time the Yankees and the Dodgers have matched up in a winner-take-all championship series.

What makes this year's World Series extra special, is that it will be the first time two players with 50+ home runs in the regular season will vs. each other. As two of the greatest hitters in baseball will be featured:

AL MVP candidate Yankees' Aaron Judge (.322 batting average, 58 home runs, 144 RBI's, 1.159 OPS, 10 stolen bases).

NL MVP candidate Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani (.310 batting average, 54 home runs, 130 RBI's, 1.036 OPS, 59 stolen bases).

Game 1 will be played on Friday, October 25 at 8:08 pm ET @ Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
