Former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum was involved in an altercation with fellow fighter Colby Covington in Sydney, Australia, which is the site Saturday's UFC fights.

The two fighters engaged in a verbal altercation before Werdum hit Covington with what appears to be a boomerang. The incident was videoed by fellow fighter Dan Hooker.

Covington recorded part of the verbal exchanged on Instagram live, and he is heard calling Werdum an anti-gay slur. He also says several negative things about Werdum's home country of Brazil.

According to MMANYTT.com, Covington is pressing charges against Werdum for assault.

Werdum claims Covington kicked him, and he said he never threw a punch. Authorities are investigating the incident.
Werdum is 22-7-1 in his MMA career, while Covington is 13-1.
