Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather could be gearing up for a rematch of last Summer's super fight, but this time under MMA rules...at least that's what it seems like based on their recent social media posts.

Mayweather, who defeated McGregor during the 10th round of their August boxing match, tweeted a video of himself entering an MMA Octagon on Tuesday, which quickly led to speculation.

Naturally, fans immediately linked the video to McGregor, the current UFC lightweight and featherweight champion, who announced his plans to return to MMA in December for his next fight after transitioning to boxing in order to face Mayweather last year.
The brash Irish fighter responded to his former opponent via social media, initially quote tweeting the boxing champion's video before posting a photo with his son, Conor Jr., featuring the caption "F*** the Mayweathers" both on Twitter and Instagram.
Hahahaha very good. Keep up the good work my son.
Yours sincerely,
Senior. https://t.co/Qk3U69isTS— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) January 30, 2018

Of course, this would be the fight many fans — especially those supporting McGregor — would have preferred to see initially as the UFC champion would be back in his comfort zone, rather than take on a completely different sport and still allow Mayweather to use his boxing strengths, albeit defending against different forms of striking.
Still, would "The Money Team" risk Floyd's perfect fighting record in order to take on the unfamiliar waters of MMA? Will we be fortunate enough to see the sequel of Mayweather-McGregor in an Octagon?
Surely, there will be plenty more speculation coming until an official announcement is made.
