Conor McGregor Found Liable Of Sexual Assault From 2018 Dublin Hotel Incident

UFC superstar Conor McGregor was in court for a sexual assault charge from 2018. Although McGregor denied the accusations, the Irish civil jury ruled in favor of the woman, who accused McGregor of rape, so he was ordered to pay the complainant 248,000 euros, or around $257,000 (per ESPN).

Even so, the two-weight class UFC champion is currently not facing any criminal charges from the incident.

In view of the woman's side of the story, she told the High Court that McGregor and her had met each other at a Christmas party in Dublin. However, it escalated when the UFC champion forced her onto a bed and choked her. The next morning paramedics found bruises all over her.

According to the woman's lawyer, John Gordon, McGregor was angry over a fight he had lost a couple months prior.

McGregor had allegedly put her in a choke hold and said, "Now you know how I felt in the Octagon where I tapped out three times."

The victim said she was threatened during the encounter and was scared for her life. However, McGregor adamantly denied it all.

"It is a full-blown lie among many lies," he said after being accused of choking. "How anyone could believe that me, as a prideful person, would highlight my shortcomings."

Ultimately, McGregor will appeal the court's decision.
