On Tuesday morning, McGregor denied the rumors that he would go up against current UFC Featherweight champion Ilia Topuria.
That is, the 36-year-old mixed martial artist said in a post, that he will instead battle social media influencer/WWE superstar Paul.
Evidently, the two are in "preliminary agreements" to vs. each other in India, as the Ambani family, who are known to spend millions on celebrity appearances, will seemingly be the ones backing the fight.
"I have agreed," McGregor said. "I will then seek my return to the Octagon."
Certainly, Paul has some experience, as he faced arguable the best boxer in the world.
Back in 2021, Logan matched up with five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather (53-0-1) in the ring. In view of the fight, Mayweather landed 43 punches of 107 thrown (40.2%), compared to Paul who landed 28 punches of 217 thrown (12.9%).
And McGregor in 2017 also faced off with "Money" Mayweather, and took home a reported purse of $130 million dollars, despite losing by TKO.
To point out, this won't be the first time that the Ambani family shelled out a bunch of money for an event, as they gave singer Rihanna $6 million to perform at a pre-wedding event for Mukesh's son, Anant (per TMZ), in addition to paying $10 million for Justin Bieber.
