After an odd first two rounds at UFC 214, Cris "Cyborg" Justino (18-1) put away Tonya Evinger (19-6) to win the featherweight championship by knockout:
It's been a frustrating couple of months for Cyborg after champion Germaine de Randamie refused to fight her, Megan Anderson bailed as the replacement and Evinger took the bout.
Cyborg rocked Evinger early in the first round, buckling her knees before backing off. The former Invicta champion took a beating over the first two rounds, narrowly surviving the repeated beatdown, looking for an opening to take the dominant Cyborg down. That opening never came as Cyborg continued pushing forward to eventually earn the TKO victory.
What's never for Cyborg is unknown, but attempting to find battle her again should prove to be difficult.
Coming into her showdown, Evinger hadn't lost since 2011. Cyborg's lone loss came in 2005, in her pro debut.
