UFC standout Paige VanZant shares the frightening photos of her dramatic weight cuts

Paige VanZant shows pictures of how much weight she lost for a fight.

Fighters are forced to cut weight often in boxing and frequently in MMA, which can produce some very unhealthy results for fighters.

UFC fighter Paige VanZant was forced to cut 22 pounds to make weight for her fight against Michelle Waterson in the strawweight division—a fight she lost—as she went from 137 pounds to 115.

In an interview with the MMA Hour, she said she actually passed out on the floor and doctors nearly didn't clear her for the fight.

"I'm a lot heavier than people realize," VanZant said. "I was honestly killing myself for this sport. In my last I want to say two fights or three fights, I've passed out in my bathroom. This last one, I passed out and had the doctors almost not cleared me for the fight."

These pictures of VanZant show just how much weight she cut for the fight. It certainly doesn't look healthy.

Now, UFC has a 125-pound flyweight division, so fighters like VanZant won't have to cut a drastic amount of weight again in the future.

It's not good for the fighters and not good for the sport, so it's a good thing UFC has addressed the issue.
