Bellator MMA veteran reportedly arrested on suspicion of robbing a bank

MMA veteran in a lot of trouble following arrest.

MMA fighter Sergio Da Silva was arrested after cops say he tried to rob a bank in Queens, New York on Thursday,  according to TMZ.

TMZ reported the news and quoted unnamed police sources.

The 31-year-old Bellator MMA veteran was arrested on suspicion of stealing $50,000 from a Citibank located on the same street as his home. He was allegedly wearing a ski mask when he jumped over the counter, the TMZ report said

Police say they found Da Silva's fingerprints at the scene, and cops arrested him at his home, the report said. He allegedly told the tellers he had a gun, but apparently a gun wasn't used in the robbery, according to the report.

Da Silva fought in 15 fights for Bellator, and his last appearance was at Bellator 180 on June 24 where he lost in the third round to Matt Rizzo.

His career record is 6-9, but if these charges stick, he won't be fighting for Bellator for a long time.
