What was known is that Tellier had to be flown to the University of Alabama at Birmingham hospital following the injury that occurred on the field, and was pronounced dead one day later, as reported by ESPN, per the school's headmaster Bryan Oliver.
"He was a student, a friend, an athlete and most important a Christ follower," Oliver said in a statement. "There are no words to describe how we feel as a school community and family."
In addition, Tellier's parents also posted to social media to give a statement on the passing of their son.
Arasella and Jamie Tellier have released this statement after their son Caden, a junior QB at Morgan Academy in Selma, AL passed away after suffering a brain injury in a HS football game Friday night.

"Our boy, Caden Tellier has met Jesus face to face," Tellier's parents said in the statement that was posted on Saturday. "Everyone who knows Caden has known kindness, generosity and love, and true to his nature, he is giving of himself one more time."
"Lives have been touched by the way he lived and now lives will be saved through his passing," the post went on to read. "We will walk out these next few days alongside him in his earthly body knowing that his spirit is rejoicing in heaven. Arrangements for a service will be made soon."
The school has suspended all sports activities for this upcoming week, which means that the next scheduled football game will also be postponed, as the school and community continues to grieve the loss of one of their own.
As was summed up in a statement on the school's Facebook page, "Caden will never be forgotten for who he was and what he means to Morgan Academy."
