Pro soccer player dies after injury suffered in collision on the field

This is extremely sad.

According to Persela FC — a professional soccer club in Indonesia — goalkeeper Choirul Huda has passed away from head and neck injuries following injuries suffered in an on-filed collision during a game on Sunday. He was 38.

Video of the injury can be seen here. At first, it doesn't appear to be too significant, as Huda catches the worst part of a collision with one of his own teammates on a ball played in the box. However, Huda's condition apparently deteriorated rapidly, as he was rushed to a local hospital and pronounced dead not long after the game.

According to ESPN, Huda has spent his entire career with Persela FC, which started in 1999. He played with the club in over 500 professional matches in that time.
