DC Comics has been trying to counter the success of the Marvel movies for some time now, really ever since the first Avengers movie was released. It's taken five years, but we are finally getting a mashup of some of our favorite superheroes with the Justice League movie set to hit theaters in November of 2017.

We've got The Flash, Cyborg, Batman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman teaming up to form one of the most powerful super teams in comics. While the trailer shows Aquaman giving Bruce Wayne a flat out "no" to join the team, we all know he can't resist a good fight and will eventually get in on the action. And while Superman is supposedly dead at the end of Batman vs Superman, the film did leave us with an opening for a resurrection and this movie poster tells us that Superman is definitely not dead.

Warner Bros. released an official synopsis for the movie and it promises an even bigger threat than Doomsday:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Obviously Batman and Diana Prince have some recruiting to do and while Aquaman is reluctant to join the team, we get a pretty funny scene between Barry Allen (The Flash played by Ezra Miller) and Bruce Wayne where Allen is all too eager to join up. It looks like the team will be searching for Mother Boxes sent ahead by offworld villain Darkseid from his world Apokolips.
Is Darkseid on his way to earth? Could it be his minion/son Kalibak? Or perhaps it's an advance force from an enemy of Darkseid's in Steppenwolf who would then set up the villainous New God for the Justice League sequel.
