While many across the U.S. were mourning his loss, new information has been revealed which connects him to pulling the trigger on others.
That is, while appearing on the Club Shay Shay podcast, famous rapper Gillie Da Kid shocked Shannon Sharpe when he revealed that Scurry, who was also known as a drill rapper named Joker OTV, was the killer in his own son's drive-by-shooting death in 2023.
"These kids are influenced by all the wrong things. ... These kids actually think that you can't make it as a rapper unless you k*lled somebody. This is the mindset" - @gilliedakid pic.twitter.com/1PTuRXeGoq

When Sharpe brought up Scurry, Gillie Da Kid spoke up and said that this 17-year-old sports star was the one who killed his oldest son, known as YNG Cheese, who was 25 at the time.
Gillie responded, "He just got sh*t 17 times, that's who killed my son!"
He continued, "The only reason why I know, is because the police called me and told me he [Scurry] was murdered, cause the kid had just got shot 17 times. He was walking with his mom, and he got murdered. And then the police notified me that he was one of the kids that was pretty much about to get locked up for the murder [of my son], but he got murdered first."

To mention, Scurry was a student-athlete, who was receiving both academic and athletic scholarships, as reportedly he had the highest SAT scores at his school.
Which made Sharpe ask the question, "He has the potential to get out, and he living that life?"
"These kids are influenced by all the wrong things," Gillie said. "These kids actually think that you can't make it as a rapper unless you killed somebody. This is the mindset"
