Now we know why the Dallas cop killer was kicked out of the Army and who he allegedly victimized

“I haven’t gone through anything. You should focus on the victims."

Dallas cop killer Micah Xavier Johnson, 25, we now know was essentially kicked out of the Army because a higher- ranking female soldier sought protection from unwanted sexual advances that were expressed in both words and deeds.

Johnson's military lawyer has spoken up about the killer's past and said that his former client made "unwanted sexual advances" towards Anna Ma, who asked for a military protective order against Johnson.

"It was all verbal. He was bothering and harassing her," Bradford Glendening said.

Although it was recommended by Johnson's chain of command that he receive an "other than honorable discharge" in 2014, he nonetheless was honorably discharged that April, a decision Glendening didn't understand since he sensed Johnson was generally disliked.

"I got the sense that he was generally disliked by his command, that he was the black sheep of his unit," he said. "He wasn't overtly disrespectful, but he also didn't carry himself in a respectful way."

Ma also asked that Johnson receive psychiatric help, according to the New York Daily News.

"Where she got the mental health issues from, I don't know," Glendening told the Daily News. "But she saw something that apparently a lot of other people didn't see."

It's interesting that Glendening said the harassment "was all verbal," however, since it's been said that Johnson gave Ma a "kinky Victoria's Secret gift."

What is also interesting is the claim by a former bunkmate who served with Johnson in Afghanistan that the killer was caught stealing girls' panties.

"We all knew he was a pervert cuz he got caught stealing girls' panties but murdering cops is a different story," Wells Newsome wrote on Facebook after the Dallas attack on police. "You never know what someone is capable of until too late."

It's not clear if this was a form of harassment inflicted on Ma.

Glendening said he was sure that Johnson create a hostile work environment.

"I'm sure he created a hostile work environment by being sexually forward with her," he said. "She asked for protection from him. And as a result of that, they kicked him out of Afghanistan and sent him back to the United States."

Ma spoke publicly on Saturday after news of past sexual harassment came to light, but instead of addressing it directly she urged everyone to focus on the people Johnson victimized and their families.

"I haven't gone through anything. You should focus on the victims," she said.
