Samuel L. Jackson drops a bomb about his character Mace Windu in Star Wars

"May the force be with us all."

When you're Samuel L. Jackson you get to do things for movies that other mere mortals do not. Everyone thought that his ever-popular Star Wars character Mace Windu was dead after Anakin Skywalker (a.k.a Darth Vader) stopped him from killing Senator Palpatine —- or Darth Sidious if you prefer —- and let him get thrown off a building.

Jackson hosted a Q&A on Twitter and someone was bold enough to ask about Windu and who decided to kill him. Of course it was George Lucas as he had total control over the franchise at the time, but SLJ leaves his death open for interpretation.

Asked by Entertainment Weekly to elaborate on his position that Mace Windu survived the fall against all odds, Jackson doubled down. "Jedi's can fall from amazing distances and there's a long history of one armed, one handed Jedis.[sic]" Jackson said he told Lucas he thought Windu was still alive, to which the creator of the Star Wars universe replied, according to Jackson, "I'm OK with that. You can be alive."

What I'm hearing is that there's a shot for a Mace Windu solo movie. Let's make it happen, Disney!
