It looks like Star Trek Beyond is going where no previous Trek has gone before —- to a hostile world with a truly treacherous villain. While the first two movies certainly had their antagonists —- a disgruntled future Romulan played by Eric Bana and the nefarious Khan played by Benedict Cumberbatch —- neither quite pulled off what Idris Elba's Krall promises to do this in this installment.

The newest trailer has a couple shots from the previous trailers, but also promises a whole lot more danger and an incredibly angry Captain Kirk looking for vengeance upon Krall who took his crew and his ship from him. He'll get some help from an unlikely ally in Jaylah (played by Sofia Boutella of Kingsman fame) who seems to have a grudge herself against Krall.

We also get a taste of a new song from Rihanna called "Sledgehammer" that adds the perfect background music for this trailer. The movie is directed by Justin Lin (Fast & Furious) and is scheduled to hit theaters on July 22.
