In a recent poll done by President Donald Trump's former pollster John McLaughlin, Stephen A. surprisingly received 2% of the vote (414 polled) in a forecast of the 2028 Democratic presidential primary (per Front Office Sports).

Notably, Smith has appeared as a guest on his Fox News friend, Sean Hannity's show, and when given the list of candidates, including: Kamala Harris (33%), Pete Buttigieg (9%), Gavin Newsom, (7%), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (6%), the sportscaster seemed confident.

"I think somebody like me could actually win. I certainly think I could beat any of those candidates you put on the screen, I can tell you that right now."

That is, recently Stephen A. has not held back his criticisms for the Democratic Party, and his voice is evidently being heard loud and clear, as some want him to lead the country.

"I doubt I'll ever run. It's not me. I live a pretty good life, and I don't want to ruin it by getting involved in politics," Smith said. "?But I've got to tell y'all something: the Democratic Party looks so pathetic after this election, I might entertain running. I just might change my mind one day. I doubt it. But I might. Because how much would it take to beat ya'll? And Trump can't run again. He's done."

While appearing on ABC's "The View" around election time last year, Smith was asked if he would run for President.

"I have said this on many occasions, the answer would be 'h*** no,' because I like my life, I'm living a pretty good life," Smith said. "I have no desire to be a congressional figure or a senator, but if you came to me and you told me I had a legitimate shot to win the presidency of the United States of America, I would definitely consider it."

Smith noted that he would try to run as an independent, because he doesn't like either side [democrat/republican].

"I'm not going to be bought and paid for. I'm going to do what I believe is in the best interest of the American people whatever that may be. And I'm going to make my decisions and stand on that."

Certainly, being that Smith, 57, is charismatic, outspoken, and has proven he can debate with the best of them, he actually may have a chance to run for office if the stars somehow align... At least crazier things have happened in America's political landscape.
