This surfer made it out unscathed after a shark attack at a competition (NSFW language)

Professional surfer Mick Fanning was competing in the J-Bay Open in South Africa when he suddenly felt something get a piece of his leg rope and he immediately knew it was a shark. He kicked around to try to get away and fortunately the rescue team came in the nick of time as well. He was asked about the attack once he was safely aboard the rescue ship and he was counting his blessings.

"I was just sitting there and I felt something just get stuck in my leg rope, and I was kicking trying to get it away. I just saw fins. I was waiting for the teeth to come at me. I punched it in the back." And that's how you handle a shark, folks! Maybe not completely, but at least he wasn't going without a fight.
