The Philadelphia 76'ers have been absolutely atrocious this year and are likely to get the first pick in this year's NBA Draft. They are currently 10-69 and just had general manager Sam Hinkie step down after three years of "The Process" not quite leading to more wins.

From the Philadelphia 76ers:

Philadelphia 76ers Managing General Partner Josh Harris announced today that the team has named Bryan Colangelo as President of Basketball Operations.

As part of the transition, Jerry Colangelo will relinquish the role of Chairman of Basketball Operations and remains as a special advisor to Harris.

Jerry Colangelo was named the chairman of basketball ops earlier this season to alleviate the talk of the 76'ers blatantly tanking and to make sure they made sound NBA decisions. The 76'ers have decided that they can't have both Colangelos and eat their cake to so they asked the elder Colangelo to step down to a special advisor role.

Harris said during the presser that Jerry Colangelo wasn't involved in the hiring of his son by the Sixers, and it was a conflict of interest to have both of them on board. He didn't think it was fair to Bryan to have Jerry around during the process of continuing the rebuilding effort Hinkie started three years ago.
