A Jeopardy! contestant missed the most obvious sports question at the worst time

So close, yet so far.

This was not the opportune time to miss what will seem like an easy question to most sports fans.

On Wednesday's episode of Jeopardy!, "Sports Mascots" came up as the category for the final round. While this would seem like a dream category for most sports fans, it didn't work out that way for poor Amy.

The clue for Final Jeopardy: "The animal on this NBA team's primary logo peaked about 75 million years ago."

Like, that seems easy, right? 75 million years ago = dinosaur. In the NBA, dinosaurs mean the Toronto Raptors. Instead, Amy went with "what is a timberwolf", which obviously wasn't the correct response.

Even worse, she bet all of her money on that response. All $17,200.

Honestly, if you don't know the Toronto Raptors exist, then going for the Timberwolves isn't a terrible guess. But since the Raptors do exist and they are the only dinosaur in the NBA (outside of Vince Carter), it's not exactly a great answer.

To make Amy feel better, we will giver her a reminder that she's not the only one to miss on what seems like an easy sports question. It happens.
