Los Angeles Lakers release former Finals champion

This is definitely a move to improve their young core.

The Los Angeles Lakers have not gotten off to the start they were hoping for with an 11-27 record and just looking bad at times. However, they have decided to part ways with veteran center and NBA Finals champion Andrew Bogut.

And now that he's gone he will likely try to find a playoff-bound team to latch on with, at least according to Yahoo's Shams Charania:

There are a few teams that could use a purely defensive big man to bolster their front court and could end up in the playoffs like Portland, Denver, Oklahoma City and maybe Indiana. Of course, that is pure speculation and there may even be other teams that step in and make some sort of roster move to clear space for the 7-footer.
