Anthony Davis, LeBron James Offer Solutions in Hopes of Making Deep Playoff Push

As the NBA's trade deadline steadily approaches, teams have started to evaluate their hopes for the postseason and potential plans for the offseason. In the Los Angeles Lakers locker room, there is a growing concern about how the current roster will fare as the season comes to its climax.

Davis and James Want LA to Shop Around for Game-Changing Pieces

Anthony Davis and LeBron James have reportedly taken a hands-on approach and instructed the front office on how to make use of two first-round draft picks.

"With the Feb. 6 trade deadline a little more than two weeks away, league sources told ESPN that [LeBron] James and [Anthony] Davis are growing concerned about the Lakers' ability to make significant roster upgrades with their two tradeable first-rounders," wrote ESPN's Shams Charania.

Charania added that the former NBA Champions allegedly expressed their desires to compete for a title this year and believe "the Lakers are potentially a piece or two away" from doing so.

Anthony Davis went a step further and provided his solution while speaking with ESPN this week.

"I think we need another big," Davis told Shams Charania this week. "I feel like I've always been at my best when I've been the 4, having a big out there."

LeBron Says LA Needs to Play 'Perfect Basketball' for Rest of the Season

The Los Angeles Lakers are sitting at the 5th seed in the Western Conference with a 24-18 record, just 1 ½ games ahead of having to endure the play-in tournament. The Lakers have played in three of the last four tournaments - incidentally, there have only been five in league history.

LeBron feels the team has no "room for error" going forward in the season, adding that with the way the roster is currently constructed, "We have to play perfect basketball."
