After losing Game 5 of the Western Conference semi-finals round to the Nuggets, the Timberwolves trailed the series 3-2, however, Anthony Edwards remained confident in Minnesota's chances, as he told the Denver staff members, that he will in fact be seeing them again.

And Edwards was right, as the Timberwolves won Game 6 by 45 points, which is the second highest margin of victory in NBA history for a team facing elimination. Notably, the Timberwolves went on three different runs throughout the game, holding the Nuggets scoreless for multiple stretches. In the first quarter, the Timberwolves went on a 20-0 run. Then in the second quarter, a 13-0 run. Lastly, in the fourth quarter the Nuggets were scoreless for six and a half minutes straight, as the Timberwolves had a 24-0 run.
The Nuggets only scored 70 points tonight, which is their lowest amount of points scored all season, as to point out, their previous low was 80 points, which is what they scored in Game 2 of the series (106-80). The Timberwolves, who give up the least amount of points in the NBA this season, also have the lowest opponent FG% in the league; they were able to also hold Denver to 30.2% FG shooting and 19.4% 3PT shooting. Furthermore, the Nuggets committed twice the amount of turnovers (12-6), and got out-rebounded, 43-62.
As Edwards predicted correctly, the Timberwolves will now travel back to Denver for Game 7, which will be played on Sunday, May 19. To point out, in NBA history, teams that were up 3-2 in a series win 84.1% of the time, and when just looking at Game 7's, the home team wins 75.2% of the time.
