Usually players expect some hugs or high-fives from fans when they go through the tunnel for pre-game warmups or post game runs back to the locker room. That was definitely not the case for this one little fan who just had to have a Carmelo Anthony hug.
Melo was a pretty good sport about it despite his team losing the game 99-91. The best part is how the kid just acted like it was no big deal and then ran all the way back to his seat. Good to see his mom was pretty chill about it too because that could have ended poorly.
But it raises another issue —- how did this kid even get to run on the court? Where was security? What if this was someone else —- bigger, stronger, more menacing —- that could have attacked a player?
You can't be too careful, and the NBA should look into this fast. As cute as it was, it could end up being disastrous.
