The basketball version of "Tic-tac-toe" had to be put on hold, as medics arrived at the scene to help him get stretchered off the court.

This moment went viral and many reacted to this on social media, as one user on X pointed out, "James about to get paid way better than he would have for winning the contest..."

As even if the contestant most likely signed a waiver form, it may not cover negligence on behalf of the Hawks if the floor was wet.

One fan joked, "Unfortunately a fan was injured attempting a layup at the Hawks game. Fortunately one of the team's sponsors is an injury attorney firm."

All in all, it was a unforgettable bad moment for the Hawks supporter, as someone pointed out, "Slipping during a layup contest during the halftime show at a Hawks game in Atlanta and tearing my ACL before I even scored a point and television cameras captured it all as the baddie MC got flustered is my literal nightmare."

"This has to be the most embarrassing fan moment I've ever seen. Wishing him a speedy recovery," said another fan.

The Atlanta Hawks organization gave an update on Wednesday (per TMZ), "We have reached out to the season ticket member injured last night while participating in an on-court game during a timeout... He is in good spirits and expects a full recovery."
