Blake Griffin is taking his post-NBA career in an unexpected direction.

The six-time NBA All-Star is getting his own weekly late-night television show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"The Stepback With Blake Griffin" will debut Oct. 20 on Prime Video and YouTube, coinciding with the start of the NBA season. New episodes are scheduled to arrive every Tuesday.
Griffin will host the show from behind a desk in front of a live studio audience, offering comedy and commentary on major issues across the sports world.
Among the planned topics are sports gambling, NIL, taxpayer-funded stadiums, marijuana use, analytics and sports journalism.
The format is expected to rely primarily on Griffin's commentary rather than celebrity interviews.
"I've watched and idolized shows like 'The Daily Show' and 'Last Week Tonight,' so to follow in their footsteps while putting my own stamp on the genre is an amazing opportunity that I'm grateful to take part in," Griffin said, via The Hollywood Reporter.
While seeing a former NBA power forward behind a late-night desk may sound unusual, Griffin has been building toward a career in entertainment for years.
He has performed stand-up comedy and appeared in television shows and movies, including "Broad City" and "The Female Brain." Griffin also works on Prime Video's NBA coverage and previously hosted a hidden-camera series for TruTV.
Griffin retired from the NBA in 2024 following a 14-year career with the Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics.
Now the former No. 1 overall draft pick will try something entirely different: becoming late night's newest host.
