The move is extremely shocking, as the Cavs are first in the East with a 30-11 record, 3.5 games ahead of second-place Toronto. Cleveland won the Eastern Conference with Blatt as head coach in the 2014-15 season, only to fall in the NBA Finals to the Golden State Warriors.
The firing comes almost a week after the Cavs suffered a 34-point loss to Golden State at home, stirring up more rumors that star player LeBron James was again dissatisfied with the team's head coach.
Despite positive comments publicly, there had been unrest growing in Cavs locker room. Frankly, it had been there since almost day one.

It didn't take long for the Cavs to find a replacement, as assistant Tyronn Lue has already been given a multi-year contract.

Stunning news, but the Cavs likely won't miss a beat with Lue in charge. Still sad for Blatt, however, as he did a good job in his first year as an NBA head coach in the 2014-15 season.
