Bronny James Wins NBA Summer League Call Of Duty Video Game Tournament

Bronny James, the No. 55 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, is vying for a Lakers roster spot by showcasing his talent on the court during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

That is to say, in between basketball games James picked up the controller to participate in the Call of Duty video game tournament, as he outlasted Grant Williams, in a two-minute round challenge, winning the championship and taking home $10,000 as well as the custom belt.

LeBron James commented on his son's performance while posting to Instagram, "Ayyyyeeee!! He really like that on that Duty!"

All in all, Bronny's shooting in the video game has been much better than his actual shooting in the Summer League games.

To point out, scoring eight points in his last outing was his highest total so far (3-for-14 FG; 0/8 3PT).

Overall, the 19-year-old is averaging 5.0 points per game on 23% FG (0/12 3PT%), 4.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.0 blocks over the course of his first three appearances against NBA competition.

As many scouts viewed Bronny as a development 3-and-D type of player coming off of his first season at USC, he is seemingly not going to be known as one to stuff the stat sheet in the scoring department, nevertheless, some have referenced that he will have to make some three-pointers if his archetype is going to include the "3."

Despite all of the pressure faced growing up in his dad's shadow, Bronny has handled the pressure extremely well, and should at the very least be able to develop into a decent NBA role player in the near future.

Bronny's next chance to play basketball will come Monday, July 15 vs. the Boston Celtics at 10:30 pm ET (NBA TV).
