According to league sources, the Brooklyn Nets have interest in hiring former Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau. Sources told ESPN.com that the Nets, while in the early stages of a search for both a new lead executive and a new coach in the wake of ousting general manager Billy King and Lionel Hollins, are likely to pursue Thibodeau once they can secure a successor to King.

The Nets have also been linked to Kentucky coach John Calipari who might be willing to leave the college ranks for a serious sum of money. However, there is a growing sense in league circles that team owner Mikhail Prokhorov wants to hire established NBA names with considerable experience in the league.
If the Nets were to hire Thibodeau it would certainly be a move in the right direction considering how rudderless this team is right now. Thibodeau has a clear path and that is to make teams play defense and grind out wins more often than not. He would instill some discipline and hopefully the front office could give him some better pieces to work with in the coming seasons.
