That is, many of Toronto's players took offense to Thompson breaking an "unwritten rule," which almost led to a brawl on the court.

Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic addressed this in the postgame press conference.
"I think what Tristan did there was no class and disrespectful," Rajakovic told reporters. "I'm not going to stand for that, for sure. I love when my team stands up for themselves. That was no class."

Thompson responded to Rajakovic's comments, as he wrote on X, "You wanna full court press with under a minute left in the game when you get cracked by 30 this will happen to you."
He continued, "Lose for draft lottery and be happy buddy boy. Hopefully you and most of your guys see the light at the end of Bobby and Masai long term plan. Bless up stay warm in MY CITY."
Referencing that he himself is from Toronto, fans reacted to this.
"My city??? Brother, when was the last time you actually lived in Brampton" one user wrote on X. "Last I checked, you're living in Los Angeles. When was the last time you played for Team Canada? The only thing people remember 'Tristan Thompson' for is being in LeBron's shadow, and some embarrassing stuff off the court. Nice try."
