The father of Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown has been arrested in Las Vegas on charges of attempted murder.

According to TMZ, Marselles Brown was taken into custody after allegedly stabbing a youth football coach during a dispute over a parking spot on Wednesday. Police say the two men first exchanged words before the incident escalated.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police reported that the victim was stabbed in the stomach and rushed to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery. His condition was not immediately known as of Thursday afternoon.
Authorities said Brown fled the scene after the stabbing but was later located and arrested. Details about his arraignment or bond had not yet been released.
Marselles Brown, 52, has a background in professional fighting, having competed in kickboxing and mixed martial arts. He is also known for working with youth athletes.
Jaylen Brown helped Boston win its first NBA title since 2008 — when the Celtics won it 2024. He was named NBA Finals MVP for that series win over the Dallas Mavericks.
Neither Jaylen Brown nor the Celtics have issued a public comment regarding the arrest. The organization has typically declined to address personal matters involving players' families.
The case remains under investigation by Las Vegas police.
