Former NBA Champion, Finals MVP reportedly a candidate to join LeBron James in Cleveland at a now-vacant position

A stunner out of Cleveland.

Just days before the NBA Draft and with trade rumors swirling, the Cleveland Cavaliers are parting with general manager David Griffin:

Apparently the Cavaliers are totally clearing house:

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, former Detroit Pistons standout and 17-year NBA veteran Chauncey Billups has reportedly emerged as a candidate to take over the now-vacant position.

Billups retired from the NBA in 2016. He served as an ESPN analyst and interviewed for the Atlanta Hawks general manager position in May.

This comes in the same afternoon where talks surrounding Jimmy Butler and Paul George as trade pieces for the Cavaliers emerged:

This move could affect trade negotiations:

In order to nab a player like Butler, the Cavs would likely need to send out Kevin Love in a trade.

For George, the stakes couldn't be higher, with the Los Angeles Lakers eagerly awaiting him to hit free agency.
