Danny Ainge thinks this current player is becoming a better shooter than Larry Bird

Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge played alongside Larry Bird for quite a few seasons in Boston. He knows firsthand how good of a shooter Larry Legend is and he did some even crazier stuff in practice when there wasn't a crowd. However, Ainge might be losing touch with some of his memories or really believes there's someone out there who can shoot better than the legend himself.

Ange recently told WEEI.com in Boston that he thinks there's a young man on the West Coast who shoots the rock better than his old running mate.

"I think Larry was as good a shooter as I've ever seen before Steph. And Ray Allen is up there, too. If anybody were to come in and tell me, 'Larry Bird's the best shooter of all time,' I wouldn't have much argument. Same with Ray. I probably wouldn't argue. It's really close.

"The reason I think Steph is the best shooter of all time is simply the variety of shots he hits. Left-handed running hook shots, reverses, floaters, 3-point shots off the dribble, behind screens. It's the variety and the degree of difficulty of the shots he hits."

Much like Bird, Curry relies on his craftiness, balance, and resourcefulness to routinely hit difficult shots over guys. He doesn't have the most hops out there —- he rarely ever dunks the ball, even on fast breaks —- but he always finds a way to get his buckets just like the slow, unathletic Bird did in his time.
