Reportedly, West was taken to jail on Thursday at 4:35 am, and the 40-year-old was booked in the Fairfax County Detention Center, being held with a $2k bond.
According to police, the DC native collapsed while running from police, he was found later needing two doses of narcan from overdosing. After being found unresponsive, he was taken to the local hospital.
Ever since his playing career ended in 2012, West has been struggling off the court, to say the least. He has had plenty run-ins with the law and has seemingly been homeless, which even prompted Mavericks owner Mark Cuban to reach out to help a few years back.

Cuban actually found West at a gas station and took him to get checked-in at a rehab facility.
Thereupon, everyone thought that West was on his way to a full recovery, as he even tried out for Ice Cube's "Big 3" basketball league in 2022.

However, West, who has history with struggling with mental health issues, such as bipolar and schizophrenia, let his drug addiction grab back hold of him.
"It's a struggle for him," Cuban said. "I mean, addiction is awful. And mental illness is awful. He's at the point in his life where he's got to want to be helped... I've tried. I know it's tough on him, but I wish him nothing but the best."
West was drafted in the first round of the 2004 NBA draft by the Boston Celtics and had a brief stint with the Seattle Supersonics, before joining LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. West played his last NBA season in 2012 with the Mavericks, who released him after having a falling out with the coaches. Throughout his eight-year career, he averaged 9.7 points (44.8% FG), 2.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.1 steals.
West also played overseas in the CBA with the Fuijan Xunxing and Shanghai Sharks, where he averaged 21.5 points (50% FG) across two seasons.
Throughout his career, West earned around $16 million dollars, yet videos and pictures have surfaced all over the internet of people seeing the once-upon-a-time NBA player homeless.
When asked what happened to his money, West responded to a lady, "I took care all my family. Made sure my family and their kids went to college and had homes."
