The Oklahoma City Thunder announced that they have completed a trade sending guard Isaiah Joe to the Pistons in exchange for two future second-round draft picks.
Joe was a member of Oklahoma City's 2025 NBA championship team and has emerged as one of the league's most dependable outside shooters over the past several seasons.
The 25-year-old averaged 11.1 points in 71 games last season while shooting 42.3 percent from beyond the arc. He has connected on at least 40.9 percent of his 3-point attempts in each of the past four seasons, making him an ideal fit alongside Pistons star Cade Cunningham.
Detroit has prioritized adding perimeter shooting this offseason, and Joe should help provide additional floor spacing for one of the NBA's rising young cores.
During four seasons with the Thunder, Joe appeared in 296 games, making 36 starts while averaging 9.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists in just over 20 minutes per game. For his career, he has averaged 8.2 points while shooting 40.6 percent from 3-point range.
Joe is entering the second season of his contract and is set to earn $11.3 million in 2026-27. His deal also includes a team option for the following season.
For Oklahoma City, the move continues an offseason focused on creating financial flexibility. The defending Western Conference champions have also agreed to trade Aaron Wiggins as they work to manage payroll following their title run in 2025.
Meanwhile, the Pistons are hoping Joe's championship experience and elite shooting can help accelerate the franchise's climb in the Eastern Conference.
