Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks has been charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence nearly seven months after his arrest in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Prosecutors filed the criminal complaint Monday, according to TMZ Sports. The charge stems from a March traffic stop in which Scottsdale police arrested Brooks on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was booked into the city jail and released later that morning.
The charge is the latest step in the case. Brooks has not been convicted, and the allegations will be addressed through the court process.
Body-camera footage previously published by TMZ showed an officer saying Brooks' vehicle smelled of marijuana during the March stop. TMZ also reported that police had stopped Brooks in January for allegedly driving 85 mph in a 45-mph zone. That was a separate incident.
The Suns acknowledged the new charge in a statement to TMZ.
"This charge stems from the incident last March," team senior vice president of communications Stacey Mitch said. "We have addressed the matter with Dillon and have no further comment."
Brooks joined Phoenix in 2025 after playing for the Grizzlies and Rockets. Known for his defense and confrontational style on the court, he has also missed time in recent months because of injuries, including a broken hand.
The Suns' statement did not say whether the charge would affect Brooks' status with the team.
