According to Netflix's rankings, Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom is inside the top three as of Saturday afternoon. This shows that NBA fans are trying to learn more about the former two-time NBA champion and his life away from the court.

According to the synopsisUntold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom "traces the life of Lamar Odom, from his rise to NBA fame and marriage to Khloé Kardashian to his near-fatal overdose in a Nevada brothel."

The primary incident in this new Netflix project occurred in 2015. Odom suffered a near-fatal overdose at a brothel in Nevada. He reportedly suffered brain damage, and he sustained numerous strokes and heart attacks.

He remained in a coma for four days and then was transported back to Los Angeles via a medical helicopter. He also underwent a collapsed lung operation that ultimately saved his life.

"I had 12 strokes and six heart attacks," Odom said in the trailer for the documentary, which debuted on March 31. "That's not no average s—."

The trailer for the Untold documentary provides first-hand commentary from Odom, as well as many other people involved in his life. They discuss his time playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, his now-former marriage to Khloe Kardashian, and his partying lifestyle.

"That first hit of cocaine was amazing," Odom said in the trailer after commentary about how he was living the rockstar lifestyle in Los Angeles. "But you unlock a vault that you can't really control."

The struggles with addiction and substance abuse played a prominent role in the Untold documentary. Kardashian even explained the role that she played in trying to keep Odom alive with the help of at-home detox centers.

"Whenever the Clippers' season ended, he spiraled again and did crazy drugs," she said. "He overdosed a few times. I had to pump his stomach."
