Draymond Green Sounds Off On New 2025 NBA All-Star Game Format: ‘This Sucks’

When asked to give his opinion of the new 2025 All-Star Game format, 4x NBA champion Draymond Green was brutally honest, rating it a 0 on a scale of 1-10.

"This Sucks, this isn't' basketball," Green said on the NBA TNT All-Star Game broadcast.

One of the first things that Draymond criticized was the fact that the Rising Stars players were participating in the All-Star Game on Sunday.

"I worked so hard to play on Sunday night of All-Star Weekend and because the ratings are down and the game is in bad place, we're bringing in rising stars. That's not a fix at all," the 4x All-Star said on TNT NBA Tip Off.

"To be playing in the All-Star game when you did not make the All-Star team is absurd."

Ahead of the Rising Stars vs. Team Shaq All-Star showdown, Green called it the "Olympic team playing against a U19 team."

Then with the final score being closer than expected, 42-35, Draymond was asked if they proved anything with their performance.

In which he replied, "Yes. That they [the Rising Stars] shouldn't have been out there... They never belonged on that court... Those games weren't exciting at all."

Also, Green criticized the new rules that included a newly implemented 40-point score limit.

"You work all year to be an All-Star, and you get to play up to 40 and you're done," he said. "This is so unfair to Victor Wembanyama, who just took this game really seriously, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who just took this game really seriously. When you talk about chasing after the points record, Melo and Kobe and all these guys who had great scoring nights, they don't get the opportunity to do this with this game."

The same sentiment seemingly was expressed by the viewers at home, yet not everyone agreed with Draymond, as 86-year-old Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson called out the Warriors star.

"Who cares what Draymond says."
