Dwight Howard’s Wife Files For Divorce Just Six Months After Wedding

Dwight Howard's marriage is ending almost as quickly as it began. Amber Rose Howard, better known in the entertainment world as rapper and reality star Amy Luciani, filed for divorce from the former NBA star on July 1, just six months after they tied the knot, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

The filing took place in Georgia, with Rose citing that the marriage is "irretrievably broken" and that "there are no prospects for reconciliation."

In the filing, Rose is seeking alimony and has requested that all marital property be "equitably divided" by the court.

The pair made their relationship public last December, announcing their engagement on Instagram while flashing matching diamond rings. They wed on January 11. But just as quickly as their whirlwind romance began, it now appears to be over, at least publicly. Rose has reportedly scrubbed all traces of Howard from her social media accounts.

Interestingly, just last month, Rose released a children's book using Howard's last name — a nod to their union that now reads more like a footnote. Howard, 39, has yet to issue a public statement on the divorce.

The eight-time All-Star and three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year is currently playing in the BIG3 League, where he debuted this season. Howard last played in the NBA in 2022 and won an NBA title with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020. He was among the first-time nominees for the 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame, announced late last year.

Rose, for her part, is known for her appearances on Seasons 11 and 12 of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta and released her debut album, Amy's World, in 2023.

A fast rise, a sudden fall. And now, a split.
