That is, reportedly Tatum suffered a torn right Achilles tendon, and will miss the remainder of this year, and likely be out for the entirety of the 2025-26 season.

Tatum contributed 42 points (16-for-28 FG), 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks in the 121-113 loss.

The 27-year-old superstar will now begin a long road to recovery. Other notable players to suffer this injury diagnosis include former Warriors players Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson.

To note, Durant tore his Achilles tendon in Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals (June 10), and then returned on December 22, 2020. Then November 2020, Klay Thompson tore his Achilles and came back on January 8th, 2022.

Down 3-1 in the series, the defending champion Celtics will attempt to make a comeback without their best player. Game 5 will take place at TD Garden on Wednesday May 14 (7:00 pm ET).
