Fans Rip Paul George For Abysmal 2-Point Performance

The Brooklyn Nets defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 100-96 on Wednesday night, and Philly fans are blaming one player in particular for the loss.

That is, coming into this game, the 76ers were missing star players Joel Embiid (knee) and Tyrese Maxey (knee), so presumably 9x All-Star Paul George was going to see a bump up in usage.

However, what took place on the court was a huge letdown to many, as PG scored a whopping two points (1-for-7 FG).

One fan on X joked, "Paul George really played 37 minutes just to drop 2 points... that man had a cardio workout, not a basketball game."

Many others also reacted online, while pointing out Paul George recently signed a 4-year/$212 million max contract just last offseason.

To point out though, maybe the hate is a tad bit unwarranted, as he stepped it up on the defensive end with three blocks and two steals, actually giving PG the highest +/- on the team with +8.

To go with his two points, the 15th year player also contributed six rebounds and four assists, which gave him a "triple-single."

In view of his recent struggles of putting the ball in the basket, over the last six games, George has yet to score over 14 points.

With this in mind, fans are starting to grow concerned that the 34-year-old may not have too much left in the tank.

So far during his first season in a 76ers uniform, PG has averaged 16.1 points (42.6% FG; 36.3% 3PT), 5.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.8 steals.

With the 76ers suffering from injuries, fans hope George can get back to playing like his old self again, as the team is currently 20-34 heading into the All-Star break.
