Philadelphia 76ers' Paul George has been receiving backlash for the amount of podcast episodes he posts, while his team continues to struggle.

That is, now with his team sitting near the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings with a 20-37 record, PG has finally made the announcement that he will be taking a break from his show Podcast P with Paul George, to "focus on winning a championship."

"I want to let the podcast P family know that after today's episode with Dwight I plan to take a break from the Pod just to focus on getting my body right getting mentally right and you know help this squad make a a push towards our goal to finish the season out give ourselves a chance to be in contentions to compete for a championship"

Considering also that the 76ers have lost their last eight games in a row, fans have pointed out it may be a bit too late to turn things around.

That is, the team is 17 games below .500 and heading into the final stretch of the season without their best player 2x MVP Joel Embiid (knee injury).

One fan responded to the timing of this news on X.

"After the season is essentially over, Paul George announces he will be solely prioritizing basketball over his podcast to get back in shape. I am at a loss for words. You can't even make up how insane this Sixers season has been."

In view of George's contract (4-year/$212 million) with the 76ers, this season has been nothing short of a letdown for the 34-year-old.

To note, the 9x All-Star is averaging 16.2 points (43.2% FG), 5.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.

All in all, maybe PG putting all of his focus into basketball, and less on podcasting, will revitalize the 76ers, who currently have +50000 odds to win a NBA championship this 2024-25 season.
