LaMelo Ball Leads Among Guards in All-Star Voting After Third Returns
On Monday the youngest Ball brother was revealed to have the most votes for All-star selection among guards in the Eastern Conference. His more than 1.9 million votes gives the Hornets's guard a comfortable 350,000 vote lead against the next player on the list, Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell.
LaMelo Ball claimed he wasn't shocked by the numbers while talking to the "NBA GameTime" crew postgame.
"Just me being me, I feel like I'm an All-Star every year," Ball said when asked about being part of this year's All-Star roster. "I just got to play the amount of games or whatever, just go out there and hoop. Every year I feel I'm talented enough to be up there."
Kyrie Irving Talks About the Impressive Growth from the Hornets's Guard
LaMelo Ball continued to make his case for a second All-Star bid after his Charlotte Hornets handed the Dallas Mavericks a 110-105 defeat on Monday night. He scored 20 first half points and put up five threes.
Dallas Mavericks point guard Kyrie Irving talked about the admiration for Ball after their teams battled it out. Irving credited his family dynamic, coming up with older brother and Chicago Bulls point guard Lonzo Ball, and said that it certainly helps with getting to this point in his career.
"[LaMelo's] got good pedigree man," Irving told reporters. "He comes from a family that has pros...they have a tight knit group out there that's always led to him being as confident as he is as a young player.
Kyrie Irving on LaMelo Ball:
