Former NBA Player Drew Gordon Passes Away At 33 Years Old

The NBA community mourns the tragic loss of 33-year-old Drew Gordon, who passed away after being in a fatal car accident in Portland, Oregon on Thursday afternoon.

Gordon was driving a Vanderhall Carmel, which is a three-wheel car, when he crashed into a GMC Sierra pickup truck. An unfortunate sequence of events happened when Gordon's car crossed over the center line of the road, and this then led to his vehicle making contact with the truck, in which the driver and passenger inside were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Drew, 33, the older brother of Nuggets player Aaron Gordon, was a standout basketball player growing up in San Jose, California. After being named a McDonald's All-American high school player, he went on to play collegiately for UCLA (2008-10) and New Mexico (2010-2012).

Gordon continued his basketball career overseas, while playing for many different professional club teams in the following countries: Serbia, Sardinia, Turkey, France, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, and Russia.

To mention, Gordon also had short stints in the NBA and G-league. In 2014-15, he appeared in nine NBA games for the Philadelphia 76ers after averaging 13.0 points and 10.6 rebounds for the Delaware Blue Coats.

The Denver Nuggets put out a statement on behalf of Gordon's younger brother, Aaron, 28.
