Former NBA player thought to hit rock bottom reportedly shares his side of the story

He suffers from bipolar disorder.

Former NBA player Delonte West suffers from bipolar disorder, and while he's had his fair share of issues off the court, he is reportedly doing just fine. After a Terez Owens report noted West was homeless, the former player reportedly chimed back to Media Takeout.

"i was helping a homeless man in my neighborhood that's paralyzed from neck down. I parked my car and got out to help because it was 90 degree weather and i was feeling blessed at the moment for just having legs."

The former NBA guard is just 32, but appeared to be in a very serious downward spiral in February. West had previously been spotted looking disheveled and acting strangely. West was receiving treatment at a facility, but he reportedly left after hallucinating, per TMZ.

"Delonte was at a facility where he received the wrong medication. He began hallucinating. Because of the hallucinations he walked out of the facility, barefoot, in the hospital gown. He went to go get food. That's when he was video taped and photographed."
