And shortly after this, according to reports, now Schroder himself is on the trade block (per NBA insider Marc Spears).

In view of the comments the 31-year-old German basketball star made about the NBA trade deadline, he remarked, "It's like modern slavery."

Schroder continued, "It's modern slavery at the end of the day. Everybody can decide where you're going, even if you have a contract. Yeah, of course, we make a lot of money and we can feed our families, but at the end of the day if they say, 'You're not coming to work tomorrow, you're going over there,' they can decide that. They got to change that a little bit."
Many reacted to this as one fan responded, "Feel like that's so disrespectful to anyone whose actually gone through slavery."
As another guy said, "Imagine he [Dennis Schroder] had to work a regular a** job."
Others brought up the fact how Schroder famously turned down a four-year/$84 million dollar contract with the LA Lakers, before going on to accept a one-year/$6 million dollar deal with the Boston Celtics during the 2021-2022 season.
After being traded from the Brooklyn Nets this season, Schroder has averaged near career-lows with the Warriors, putting up 10.6 points (37.5 FG%) in 26.2 minutes per game.
