Fans fighting after an NBA preseason game between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs in Miami? Well, it's actually to be expected.

Fighting among fans is fairly common these days. At least, it's almost always caught on video — making it seem more common. And when it happens, everyone wants to watch. That includes Heat guard Tyler Herro, who got distracted by a fight in the stands during a live interview on Bally Sports.
"Video showed a group of fans fighting in their seats," wrote Shandel Richardson of Sports Illustrated. "The melee happened while Heat guard Tyler Herro was being interviewed by Kelly Saco of Bally Sports."
Herro paused and didn't really seem to listen to the question before apologizing.
"I'm sorry, I'm distracted by a fight up there," he said. "This is crazy."

The combatants were unknown, but they did indeed put on a decent show. Eventually, security arrived to break it up and restore order. We assume everyone made it home without further incident. But just when you thought it was safe to attend what is really nothing more than a glorified scrimmage ... well, something like this takes place.

Of course, no one tried to break it up, and that's fine. It's not their job. But everyone did whip out their phones to record it, so we got several different angles of the melee.

As Stephen Douglas of SI wrote: "This is humanity at its worst and the Internet at its best."
The NBA regular season tips off next week, and the Heat are hoping to go further than last season's first-round playoff exit. It remains to be seen if they have the necessary fight. But hey, their fans sure do.
