Isaiah Thomas kept playing against the Wizards despite suffering gross injury

This had to hurt.

Boston Celtics' star point guard Isaiah Thomas got elbowed in the face early in Game 1 of the second round of the NBA playoffs against the Washington Wizards.

The blow was big enough to knock out of Thomas's front teeth, and although Thomas was forced to leave the game, he has since returned to action after suffering the gruesome injury.

Thomas found his lost tooth on the court and took it over to the team medical staff, who reportedly "repositioned" it back into his mouth, according to ESPN Boston reporter Chris Forsberg.

Thomas and the Celtics were struggling early in the game, but have rebounded strongly since Thomas had his tooth knocked out and put back in place.

Thomas averaged 28.9 points per game along with 5.9 assists per game.
