Houston Rockets guard James Harden is already one of the best-compensated players in the NBA as he's set to make just over $28 million this coming season. However, it looks like his near-MVP performance last season is enough to warrant not only an extension, but a very rich one.

Harden was an MVP finalist and averaged 29.1 points, 11.2 assists and 8.1 rebounds per game. Stephen Curry just signed the NBA's largest contract ever this summer at $201 million over five years so to outdo that would be quite the feat for the Rockets who also just acquired Chris Paul this summer and could very well add a third All-Star to the team.
